Bottom Hand

A new blog went up just about a week ago, called Bottom Hand. It is rumored to be the work of a group of 2 handed fly fishermen enthusiasts from across the country. Two of those are based in NY. Shaq who runs Spey Nation posted a a few sweet flies he tied up to fish when the rains start falling today!

Check them out at Bottom Hand

With the forcast of a few INCHES of rain coming for the Rochester area, it could make for an interesting time on the creeks this Saturday...when I FINALLY get out!!!

Fly of My Dreams/Musky Madness

(CORRECTION: Apparently while writing up two posts yesterday, I think I combined the text with another video. So, I've just gone and added them both now)

I'm guessing that once the wrong people see this video, these guys will have their fly fishing licenses revoked for not wearing enough tweed!

This is my favorite fishing song ever (I can say that because my memory is too bad to remember any other fishing songs right now!)

Check out flywallets.com for some sweet leather work by Mark Crappo!

And a sweet musky video slated to come out early next year!

Flying Bison, Flying Bear

WOW!

I've been to Yellowstone when I was a kid, and it's a great place, but I hope to never experience this so close to my face as this guy did.

Follow this link to see all 16 images: Amateur Photographer Captures a Grizzly Bear Chasing a Bison Down a Highway in Yellowstone. Each image has a little write up on his experience.

I think I'll continue to turn my head to check out all noises behind me while I fish!

Travel Trash

Here's a tip from my fishing friend. He took an Eclipse Gum Big Pack container and turned it into a travel trash can for tying!

Power Dubbing Twister

Here's some photos from a friends powered dubbing twister. The black board is just the base. The light wood has a groove in it where you lay down a piece of wire, cover with dubbing, then cover with the rest of the wire. Once he hits the button it spins up the material into a dubbing loop in about 2 seconds. This is a great way to premake dubbing brushes quickly.

Graffiti, Flies & Pies #3

Hoodlums strike again!  Kids are running around town just tagging everything with GFP. I think if they had a hobby (fly tying) they'd stay home and cause less trouble for the community!

Bobbin Tip Replacement

Let's say, hypothetically of course, that your 2 year old son grabs your bobbin and somehow, using the power of saliva, removes the ceramic tip. Don't toss it out just because it now cuts thread, but replace the tip with a bead.
